While contracting with Goldi, a Brisbane-based design studio, I had the incredible opportunity to work under the guidance of their head designer on the branding for the Museum of Brisbane’s latest exhibition, which celebrated the rich stories of our city. As part of this project, I developed a concept centred around a flowing, string-like font to represent the winding Brisbane River — a symbol deeply woven into the city’s identity. I paired this with a series of fine-line illustrations capturing both iconic landmarks and everyday Brisbane moments.
Each drawing was crafted with intricate detail, offering a sense of discovery—the longer you look, the more hidden elements you find. This concept was selected as the foundation for the entire exhibition. The hand-drawn elements became a defining feature, transforming the museum space into an immersive experience. The branding extended beyond the exhibition itself, with these illustrations displayed on marketing materials and installations throughout the city, creating a cohesive and captivating visual story of Brisbane.
It was a rewarding experience that sparked my love for illustration and set the foundation for the style I continue to explore today.
